Flight to Salzburg

We suggest to travel directly to Salzburg. There are direct flights from many cities, e.g., Vienna, London LGW and STN, Frankfurt, Berlin TXL and SXF, Zürich.

From Salzburg Airport to Salzburg Train Station

The bus line no 2 goes daily every 10/20 minutes between Salzburg main railway station and the airport. Sundays and public holidays every 20 min. Journey time approx. 20 min.

Train to Salzburg

It is also possible to arrive via Munich or Vienna and then take a train to Salzburg. Here you can find a precise train schedule and online ticket shops:

  • from Vienna it takes about 2 ½ hours
  • from Munich it takes about 3 hours: with DB Bahn

From Salzburg to Strobl

There is a bus no. 150 that goes from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof to Strobl Busbahnhof. Here one can check the timetable for departures (in English).

Car to Strobl

If you come in your own car, follow these directions: from Vienna or Salzburg: Leave the Vienna - Salzburg Motorway A1 (Westautobahn) at exit Mondsee. Follow the signs to St. Gilgen on the Highway B154 and continue on the Highway B158 along the southern bank of the Wolfgangsee in the direction of Bad Ischl. Turn left at the sign to Strobl.
