Travel information
Coming by train from south or east
The hotel (Austria Trend Hotel, Favoritenstraße 52)
is quite close (about 500m) to Südbahnhof, the railway station where you arrive if coming from south or
east.
You can either use the bus "13A" (3 or 4 stops)
or you take a short walk (less than 10 minutes).
For choice 2 we would suggest to cross the Gürtel
and to walk at "Prinz-Eugen-straße" till "Belvederegasse"
where you turn left and walk till you arrive at "Favoritenstraße"
where the hotel is situated. (see map Südbahnhof area)
The hotel is again not far away from the department
(TU Wien "Freihaus", Wiedner Hauptstraße 8-10).
You can either take the metro line "U1" till Karlsplatz
where you leave the station to "Wiedner Hauptstraße"
or you walk down the "Favoritenstraße" slightly
leaning to the left (at Paulanerkirche) where you come
to "Wiedner Hauptstraße".

Coming by train from north If you come from the north you will arrive at "Praterstern - Wien Nord". There you change to the Schnellbahn (a rapid local railway) S1, S2 or S3 to Südtirolerplatz (4 stops). The frequency is about 7-8 minutes and all three lines leave from the same platform. Another possibility is taking the metro U1 to Südtirolerplatz (6 stops). At Südtirolerplatz take the exit to "Favoritenstraße", then it is a five minutes walk to the hotel.
Coming by plane
When coming from the airport you can take the train (Schnellbahn S7) which brings you to "Wien
Mitte". There you change to S1, S2, or S3 to Südtirolerplatz (3 stops). All three lines leave
from the same platform. The train from the airport to "Wien Mitte" leaves every 30 minutes (see schedule), the
train ride takes about 25 minutes and costs EUR 3,40. At Südtirolerplatz take
the exit to "Favoritenstraße", then it is a five minutes walk to the hotel.
Alternatively, you can use the CAT, which brings you non-stop to "Wien Mitte" within 16 minutes,
but costs about EUR 9,-.
The CAT is clearly signposted. If you choose the first variant, look for the signs of the Austrian
railways 
or the Schnellbahn
