Algebra Seminar talk
2015-11-20

Very large cardinals
Abstract:
The seminar is an introduction to rank-into-rank and
stronger large cardinals. It will be a flash survey of the
most fascinating results and of the branches of research
(including open questions) in this area.
The amount of time and focus spent on each topic will depend on the wishes of the audience.
The topics that can be touched are:
- basics of I0
- the algebra of elementary embeddings (aka good material for grant applications)
- strong implications between very large cardinals
- inverse limits of embeddings (a powerful technique, which proves for example the reflection above but also the power set property)
- similarities between I0 and Determinacy on L(R)
- I3-I0 and forcing
- above I0
