Travel Information

Travel to and from the Airport

The Vienna International Airport is located about 20 km south-east of Vienna. There are four options for travel to and from the airport:

A taxi to the city center costs approximately 40 Euro one-way.
City Airport Train (CAT) to the city center (stop Landstraße - Wien Mitte). From here you can access the public transport network. Ticket price: 9 Euro one-way.
The airport bus serves the stop Südtirolerplatz and the two train stations Südbahnhof and Westbahnhof. From any of those you can access the public transport network. Ticket price: 6 Euro one-way.
A rapid-transit railway (S-Bahn No. 7) connects the airport with the stop Landstraße - Wien Mitte. Ticket Price: 3 Euro one-way (two traffic zones). The trip takes approximately 30 minutes.

The "Wiener Linien" provide a map of the transport network and online timetable information.
For connections from the airport into town insert for Departure Town/District: Schwechat and Stop: Flughafen, for Arrival Town/District: Wien and the stop/address you would like to reach.

(Single ticket)	2,00 Euro on trains	* One trip in one direction. You may change lines but not interrupt the trip.
Streifenkarte	6,00 Euro	* Valid for all public transport lines in one traffic zone.
(4 single tickets)		* Transferable (one strip per person).

Vienna University of Technology

The Vienna University of Technology, 4. Wiedner Hauptstrasse 8-10, is located next to station "Karlsplatz", served by the underground lines U1, U2 and U4. Take exit "Wiedner Hauptstraße".

The Conference on Convex Geometry and High Dimensional Phenomena will be held in the lecture hall "Hörsaal 8" of the "Freihaus" building, located on the second floor (yellow area, B).

Additional Information

Banks and Money Exchange: Official opening hours: Monday to Friday from 08.30-12.30 and 13.30-15.00. Banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. It is possible to change foreign currency into Euro at most city hotels and exchange counters.
Shopping Hours: Shops are generally open during the week from 09.00 - 18.00, and on Saturday from 09.00 - 12.00 (17:00 in most shopping areas). Shops remain closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Parking: A parking garage is available at the Freihaus, subject to (high) charges. Otherwise there is no possibility for long-term parking in the center.
